South Carolina Nutter Bypass

The more I read stuff here, the more I know I am an igiot. Got this 1981 CJ7 258 BBD California emission Jeep. Thinking about doing the Nutter on it, but am actually sorta scared to tackle it!! Sounds easy, but then what does a guy disconnect?? This jeep has about 50 yards of vacume tubing and a bazillion control gizmos. What do you all think/know about doing this?? Maybe all I need is someone to say--Its a piece of cake, do it!!!!

This link is by the man himself http://www.4x4wire.com/jeep/tech/ele...jn-ignition99/

I would take notes, pictures or video of your before, during and after. Log each step. This will answer questions about what you did and instill a little confidence. If you don't like it you can always go back. Do a search on the newsgroup for Nutter bypass nad find even more tips. I logged one the other day that involves making an adaption to an existing plug while making the Nutter upgrade.

Good luck

Scott

[/ QUOTE ]1. I can't say it's a piece of cake, because,
2. For most owners it's electrical,
4. And that contains a fear/frustration level.
5. But once you start,
6. Look twice,
7. Cut once.
8. Go slow,
9. Be sure you understand the directions,
10. It's not a hard job,
11. Just one that most people aren't comfortable with,
12. But be assured that lots of Jeepers have done the job successfully,
13. And you're likely smarter that one or two of 'em.
14. So if they can do it...
15. So can you.
16. Now go get those wire cutters!
