Tuffy Console - Noisy? Cup holders?

I searched around for this info, but it doesn't seem to have been addressed. With all the doors and flaps on tuffy consoles, it seems to me that when wheeling they must make a bunch of noise. Is this the case?

I'm thinking about getting the stereo console for my 2000 TJ, or the overhead stereo/cb compartment.

Also, are the cup holders large enough to hold a clear cup slurpee?

Thanks!

They dont make any noise... I used to have on in my CJ and it never made a sound. The lips have a seal on them so it connects tightly and is noiseless.

About the Slurpee? Sorry I dont have the necessary skills to answer such a technical question. Actually the cup holders are alittle bigger than normal I guess? Didnt pay too much attention to them.

I can`t speak for the overhead console because I don`t have one. But I do have a 10" center console and I
really like it. I think they`re well worth the money. Never noticed any noise from it on or off road. Don`t know
about the cup holder being big enough for a Slurpee, I wouldn`t eat or drink ANYTHING from 7-Eleven .
One nice thing about the center console is that the cup holder can mount on the front or rear, or buy an extra
holder for more drink`s. I recently built a diamond plate tool box for the back of my CJ5 and was able to order
extra locks from Tuffy that were keyed the same as the center cosole, very convienent.

I have the overhead and am satisfied with it. It is a little unhandy because the only latch is the lock, so you can't close the doors without locking it. Good quality and heavy duty.

The Tuffy's come with some tape you line the lid with that seals it from the elements and keeps it quiet. No noise.

Re: Tuffy Console - Noisy? Cup holders?

I have the overhead console for my TJ and I love it. Its not only a good spot that isnt already used. I have my CB and XM radio in mine and its worth the money in peace of mind alone. As for noise i dont ever notice any on the trail or off. It's also pretty theft proof considering I have gone downtown (Atlanta) and have come back to find it with scrapes from someone trying to pry it open (to on avail). My only two complaints are that you cannot put the windshield down and it will not work with some bikini's. Other than those two I would say go ahead with it its worht the $250.

I have the tuffy console, speaker/storage boxes and under rear seat drawer and love them all, they never make any noise, and are so tough, nobody even tries to break into them, which I can't say about the pieces they replaced. plus I had them all keyed alike so my keychain is light. They may be expensive, but well worth the money.

Re: Tuffy Console - Noisy? Cup holders?

When ever I tried to put a Slurpee in my overhead, I ended up with a Slurpee shampoo....

Oh, you meant....

Yeah, my center console gives me the peace of mind like my 'stuff' is in the trunk of my car. It'd take a determined effort to get at my $35 CB radio and 70s rock cassettes. And the cup holders hold handled COFFEE cups, which in my book makes it worth the money.
