ID Vin #...

The plate, on the firewall, driver side reads " Vin 8305 210175". It has a 134 cid., and a twin stick(D20?. Appears to be mostly original. Where can I find out any info.on this rig? Did a search, but got so many different posts, I got discouraged. Any help?

Re: ID Vin #...

Jeepgod has a page on his site that has good vin info. Jeepgod's VIN page

edit: Ooops, if it is the '71 listed in your signature line, it won't help. His info only goes back to '72. Sorry.

a twin stick(D20?.

[/ QUOTE ]
I haven't seen a stock twin stick D20 yet. Check underneath and see if the rear end is offset to the passneger side. If it is, it's a D18 with 2.46 to 1 ratio low gear tcase. Some guys talk about a twin stick D20 but, thay have used the D18 parts. Does this Jeep look like it has been modified or stock? After rereading your message, I'd bet it's a D18 case, and probably has a T90 3 speed. You can find more info on the VIN Numbers on www.earlycj5.com the other board I hang out on.
