O/T Opinions on Norther Tools

I just sold my Jet Ski so now I have money burning a hole in my pocket. I want to get a small welder and found a good deal on a Hobart welder in Northern Tools, but I have heard some horror stories about them. Anybody have any experience with the company?

Welder shouldnt be a problem, but you get hit and miss hand tools and such. All in all i have no problems, just remember that it is a low priced because most of it is made in china. So if there are tools that you use every day, i would suggest get a good set. But The store is a great place to kill lots of time looking at all kinds of stuff that you wish you had, but would probably never use

Re: O/T Opinions on Norther Tools

We don't have a store locally, I do all my shopping with them thru the mail. I have had great luck on name brand stuff. I have found the local places can beat most of their prices on things like welders, generators, etc.. Especially when shipping is figgured in. I also like to know who I purchased a big ticket item from so that I can return if I have questions or concerns in the future.
