Break lines?

Can anyone tell me how the rear break line on my Jeep works.

I've replaced the hard lines before, but the soft line that goes from frame -> rear "T" has me confused.. it doesn;t look like it unscrews.

Am I just being dumb? or is there a trick here.

(I need to extend it.. just realised I'm using it as a limiting strap. :-/ )

Re: Break lines?

The brass T that bolts to the axel is part of the rubber hose from the frame. The two hard lines come out of the T, and the other end unscrews from the hard line on the frame.

Re: Break lines?

Thankyou Jim..

So the way to extend the break lines is to find a pre-fabbed longer one?

Anyone happen to have any part numbers or common uses that I can give the parts guy?

Saves waiting for 30 minuites while he tries to figure out why I want an extended break line

Re: Break lines?

Either find a longer one or find a suitable T and matching hose. Might be time to take a caliper and crawl around in a junkyard. I know I've seen brake Ts that had three threaded holes.

Re: Break lines?

When I converted to Braided flex lines, I used inlinetube.com ,the rear hose came with a seporate brass tee. They sell custom extended rubber hoses also. Hope this helps!
