Love those all black rims? But yours have stripes?
You can remove the stripes with a small rag and some acetone. Don't rub too hard, or the black will come off. I tried this today on my spare and it worked like a charm. I saw a set of all black rims with American Racing center caps, and I know they don't come in all black. I asked around and the shop that sells them removes the stripes with acetone. And to my amazement, they were right. I am really surprised at how different they look without the stripe. The stripe never really bothered me, but now that it is gone I really like the look.
Later, Tom PS I had AR767 Black rims with red/blue stripes. Now all black. |
Re: Love those all black rims? But yours have stripes?
The rims with the stripes are AR-767's. I bought a set of black "Rock Crawlers" made by Pro-Comp they dont have the stripes. Just thought I would throw that out there.

Re: Love those all black rims? But yours have stripes?
The reason I bought the AR767 and not the Rockcrawlers is because I was able to get the ARs for about $34 each. Much cheaper than the Rockcrawlers, and I didn't have to go to 4WheelParts. There are several variations of that wheel. Here are some different manufacturers and the part numbers.
Unique Wheel - Series 42 http://www.uniquewheel.com US Wheel - Daytona 84-XXXX http://www.uswheel.com American Racing - 767 http://www.americanracing.com You can usually find the above manufacturer's wheels at discount chain stores like Discount Tire, or NTB. Later, Tom |

Or you lift the wheel off te ground, get it spinning on the hub, and hold a paint brush with black paint on it, up to the stripes. It'll basically paint itself!

You mean yours are actually clean enough to SEE the stripes?
