Windshield Wiper Arm Tension

I just installed a new set of windshield wiper linkage, and arms what what not. Old system had rotted out due to P.O.

Now, it all works fine, except for the fact that the new arms are pressing to hard against the windshield, and causing it to labor a lot when I try to run them. They will work, but their laboring, and i'd like to aviod burning the motor out.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to adjust them? Is there something really simple that I missed?

Thanks

Re: Windshield Wiper Arm Tension

If its on a cj you can take some needle nose pliers and stretch the spring out a little to relieve some tension .

Get the windshield wet. If it doesn't drag then, I'd leave it. New arms, new blades and a dry windshield would mean a little drag.
