Help! rear Knocking...again

Hi Folks,

Well I finally got the 360 into my YJ. I haven't upgraded the drivetrain yet, thats my winter project. Right now I just want to enjoy it while the suns out.

Well she was fine the first few shake down runs but the last couple of times I've been getting a loud clunking/buckling noise from the rear when I pull off from a standing start. I have to apply the pedal REALLY gently to avoid it.

The noise doesn't happen straight out of the garage only after a run of a couple on miles.

I've soaked all the bolts tonight and I'm going to have a proper look tommorow. Cursory looking suggests nothing immediate. So b4 I rip it apart I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions about what it could be.

Cheers.
Nick

How lucky are you? Before I tore into it, I'd jack up the rear and turn both tires while listening for brake shoe rattling. Could be as simple s a broken shoe return or retaining spring.

A few months ago there were a lot of posts on this subject. Bottom line was brakes for most of us. Check adjustment. Weak springs and bad adjusters.

Wotcha Nick, long time no see.... Ain't this always the case??? Was gonna sling me lift kit under the Jip last weekend but the tarmac was flippin' melting outside the front of the house so I thought I'd leave it till this weekend.... Had a big BBQ and a ****load of beer instead Just hope it is going to stay dry enough this weekend...

B.t.w. heard about our Patrick Kear from Specialist Leisure??? Things that make you go hmmmm....

Hey Hooch,

How's it.

Ahh beer and barbies, its been a long time coming but we've finally got the weather for it.

yeah I hope it holds this weekend, got the boys coming round for a GP barbie on Sunday, run a cable out to the patio, set the TV up outside drink some brews and watch the race, just hope it doesn't rain.

How much lift you got? Don't do what I did, Imported a kit from Germany stuck it on myself, couldn't read the instructions, they were Germany, So I stuck them on back to front.

I only realised the mistake after I almost bump steered my dumbass into a tree

So what's with Pat Kear, Care to fill me in I'm a little out of the loop.

Cheers.

Nick.
