Monteagle Labor Day weekend info

It is now official.. Tennessee Off Road will be hosting a trailride in Monteagle for the Labor Day weekend. I contacted Dave at TOR this morning and begged for something to do.. He said "Let's do it"... I don't think there is any charge to ride, just a bunch of wheelers that want to go, just need to show up. The weekend is August 30,31 we plan to ride Sat and Sun. Looks like Stagecoach, so far, but they will be doing a preliminary ride to scope out some new stuff. This ride will be an Authorized ride.. They already have leased the property, so we will NOT be tresspassing. Most of the land, if not all, is off limits to non-participating people, so here is your chance to ride legally in Monteagle...
I am asking for group rates at the Regency Hotel, so far, no word. At present the rate is $39.89/ night. Smokehouse is $92/night. So much for The Smokehouse...
The Regency is right behind the Waffle House, it was previously called Budget Host...I will update with more info soon.
Who's going???

Re: Monteagle Labor Day weekend info

Count me in!!! I love Monteagle. I wish all this political bs would go away. But I guess that might be asking too much when there is money involved.

I currently have reservations at the Smokehouse, but am more than willing to trade them in on the Budget Inn. As long as I have a REAL bed.

I'll be making the trip along with my bro (in his suzuki) and his kiddies. There might be additional people jumping on the bandwagon, but that's to be determined.

Thanks for chasing things, Ricky!!

Re: Monteagle Labor Day weekend info

Someone save me a seat because between my wife's junk being broke and my junk being broke (and now my wallet being emptied to buy another OHV). I doubt mine will be there. Seeing as how I put off fixing one of her jeeps a year now and the other is her daily driver I guess they get to get fixed first.... I might be able to slide the 1 tons under by then if the weather holds and I have some good luck but it doesn't look good....

I've never been, is my little jeep going to be able to winch through, or do I need to try to ride bxtch w/ Pat?

P.S. Ricky, Steve, Chris,.......... I still can't drive any better than the last time you saw me.

I'm just sending this back to the top, so more people will have the chance to join in.

Ricky, any idea of when you'll know about the group rates at the motel? Or are they waiting on a tally of jeepers that will be going?

Might be able to make it...count me as tentative...might sacrifice the marriage but what the hell, you only live once and most people don't live well the once they have!!!

Re: Monteagle Labor Day weekend info

OK, just spoke with Myrna @ The Regency in Monteagle. If we get 20 rooms they will give a $5/night discount ie:$34.98/night. Please tell them you are with Tennessee Off Road group. toll free # 1-800-468-6580 Call on Thurs-Sun. The other dude is a pain in the butt. Please don't wait too long to make the reservations. They are 3/4 booked now!!!!!
I made 2 , so 18 more togo.....

Re: Monteagle Labor Day weekend info

Hope to be there. I'm moving from WA to TN on the 11th. Is this a heavily modified vehicle run only? If there are go arounds, I'd love to run the trails/obstacles I can and watch the big boys the rest of the time but don't want to hold anyone up (or break TOO much stuff - YJ = daily driver )
