I've used them all, Weber 32/36, MC2100, Carter BBD, and Howell EFI.
No question, the Howell is the best, but costs $$$.
The MC2100 works good if you can find some 44 jets, but it requires adapters and I pay 40$ for a rebuild kit.
The Weber is way overated and overpriced, and I don't care for the preogessive linkage.
I've found, that the best bang for your buck, is the Mr.6er Carter BBD.
I modify and sell em to everybody in my area, they are the best and cheapest carb for a 258.
I know, most people think they're junk, but properly modified, they can't be beat for off-road performance.
