Wow

Wow...........today I got a 100 dollar gift certificate for my birthday in a couple of weeks for Quadratech. It was from a cousin of my dad that I have talked to maybe once in the last year. My 2.5 needs more power...so what can I get for for 100 dollars outta Quadratech that will give me a boost in power. Thanks guys. Maybe I need to get in touch with more of my outter family to see what else I can get.

Re: Wow

Grapehead, you crack me up!

Chris, I don't know anything about 2.5's, but if you have adjustable timing, I would spend the $100.00 on a good timing light. If you have any more $$$, I'd buy plugs, cap and rotor. Advance the timing till you just get some ping (typically under low rpm heavy throttle), then back it off till it doesn't ping any more. Keep a log book of your settings. And bear in mind that lower octane gas will not tolerate as much advance without pinging. I'd bet you will get more usable HP from optimal timing than a throttle body spacer or K & N filter.

Re: Wow

You could get a throttle body spacer for a 4.0L and go to a scrap yard and get a throttle body off of a 4.0L and make the swap. Something that I've been wanting to do I here the power gains are good from others who hae done this.
