79 Chero springs in a Wrangler

I have a set of rear springs from a 79 Cherokee Chief sitting in my garage. I was thinking about taking the spring packs apart and using some of the leaves in the spring packs of my 91 Wrangler as a sort of inexpensive add-a-leaf lift. Anyone ever done this or something similar to this? I have measured the width of the springs, and they are the same. Would this work? I am not looking for a lot of lift, just something to get the Wrangler up a bit higher so I can maybe go with 30 or 31 inch tires. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated! Thanks,

Those springs are set up for an SOA application, so they have less arch than your YJ springs. I doubt they would be of any help. Get some leaves from a front full-size-jeep spring, and you'll be better off.

OK, I fouled up. The spring packs are from the front of the 79. Any opinions on which leaves to use? The longer ones or the shorter?

Thanks,

Just swap the whole spring packs. The centering pin is off-set so you can move your front axle 2" forwards while you're at it. The rear axle can be moved 2" back as well, but I'm not sure if there would be any clearance problems with the gas tank...
