Who\'s running 31X12.50s on a CJ?

Any pics? Any lift needed? I'm clearing 31X10.50s with no problem and would like to know if these would fit.

Re: Who\'s running 31X12.50s on a CJ?

i have 31x12.5 Procomp MT's on 15x10 rims.
I have a fiberglass body (so there is a slight body lift) but otherwise stock (and sagged) suspension.
(so all rounded together it is probably normal stock height)

They fit fine on the road, and only rub my flares a lil under heavy articulation. But all in all i would say they fit well.

I will take some pics and post them soon.

(if you fit 31x10.5's now you should have no problem with 31x12.5's the only difference is they are a lil wider. the width didnt effect my clearance at all. i still have PLENTY of room between the tires and frame rails even at full turn to both sides. but then again the 10" wide rims help that too. i dont know if stock rims would make much difference)

Re: Who\'s running 31X12.50s on a CJ?

Ok it is nothing exciting, but here are a few shots of my cj at rest. I will get some action shots here soonish.
it changes so much i cant even keep my pics up to date now i have a nice hi lift jack bolted to the front bumper, and some fancy red jerry cans on the back.

anyone else got suggestions for me?
my jeep is always looking for new lil accessories.

i dont know why, but it reminds me of a toy. like it is missing something. what do you think?
maybe too much unbroken yellow up front.
i dunno. i thought this before, but it really hits me looking at these pics.

Sweet... thanks for the pics! I'm guessing that 15X10's would be the rims to go with on a tire that wide?

Re: Who\'s running 31X12.50s on a CJ?

that is what i used, they look kinda tough, give you nice backspacing, they keep the tread nice and flat, and they give you alot of upgrade room. 15x10's are a good rim for anything up to like 38" tires. so if i want to go bigger i can keep my same rims.

i like these alloys from 4wheel parts, they are just their basic modular alloys. not to $$$ and look good.
just be careful, they are raw aluminum, and not clear coated. this is good if you take care of them, bad if you dont.
clear coat tends to peel off aluminum after several years then it looks crappy, and cost a ton to re-clear (you cant just use any old clear coat, or it will turn yellow)
the raw aluminum wheels will stay nice as long as you keep them clean and polish and wav them now and then, just like you would wash and wax your car. aluminum car tarnish and even pit if not taken care of, but it can also be buffed back to a nice shine without much effort.

just my few pennys...

Re: Who\'s running 31X12.50s on a CJ?

oh perhaps in that pic, but ask anyone who knows me, I hardly ever let it go long without mud.
like right now is about as clean as it has been in some time due to all the rain, i will have to drive it thru the mud again as soon as it stops raining and my seats dry.

and there are plenty of scratches, you just cant tell cuz it is yellow fiberglass.
