Wheel bolt pattern plates - are they OK?

I have a **very** hard time finding the 5x4,5 bolt-patterned-wheels for my YJ around here. Actually, there ain't any available, and all the guys I saw (both of them ) and asked have had them (Wheels) shipped from the US (read: $$$). But I can find some Nissan etc wheels, in 15x7, 15x8, 15x10 etc sizes. But they have a 6-bolt-pattern.
The other day I saw an advertisement and this shop, among the rest, does some kind of plates which should allow you to "change" the bolt pattern and fit the 6-bolt wheel on.
Do those things exist in the States, are they OK or bad idea? Anybody had (has) them?

Do they exist in the US? yes
Are they a good idea? maybe, they place more stress on the studs and also space the wheels out farther. In your case, they may be the best solution you have. I used to use them when I drove VW beetles, they allowed me to use other wheels back before I put much thought into such things. I'd use them again if I had to though.

Ford Exploders also have the 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern. Not sure how many of them are over there, but may be worth looking into.

Re: Wheel bolt pattern plates - are they OK?

I know about Explorers. But there are 3 pcs here, in Croatia. Not willing to sell. Also, some other 4x4s have the "right" pattern, but they either have stock wheels, like I do, or they aren't selling. Or they're too ugly. Or they are built in the way that I wouldtn'd put'em off road except carrying'em with my hands. It's some Japs crap cars 4x4 & jeep wannabe, who think that you'll be the ultimate offroader if you put some 20' wheels with some loooooow profiles on. Smth like 315/30/19. Can you immagine!?

Anyhow, I'll look into Mitsubishi wheels. There are enough M's around here, and some nice wheels in good shape, too. 6 bolts, but with those plates....
