CJ Belly UP Flat Skid Plate...who has one?

I'm looking for ideas for a flat skid plate for the CJ. I know I'm going to need a clocking ring for the Dana 300. I have a T-5 and the lovely factory skid plate and want to get some clearance there.

I have seen the clocking and flattening the hump but I was wanting to tuck the tranny up there out of the way. Anyone doing this on the board here? I have a 1" More Body lift but kinda looking for ideas.

thx

Re: CJ Belly UP Flat Skid Plate...who has one?

I have the same setup, and plan to do exactly the same thing, clock the dana300 tc up flat. I'm torn between using a flat plate and building a crossmember. The issue for me seems to be the stock tranny mount is quite thick and won't work if you don't want to lift your drivetrain. A crossmember bolted directly to the tranny (without the stock tranny mount taking up space) with bushings on each end to absorb vibration would be the best setup. Then have a smaller, removable skid attached thereto. There's so much junk on the inside of the drivers frame rail, like the parking brake though. I'm waiting for some inspiration.

If you want pic's of flat skid plates, do a search on the pirate site, there are lots of pic's there.
