noise from t-chain cover - update

Just to keep you informed in case anyone has a similar problem: Turns out that the noise was coming from the harmonic balancer which was sitting too close to the cover. It has actually started to score the aluminum cover a bit. Strange thing is, whenever I torqued it to 20 ft lbs it brought it back into the same position. I finially built a shim to keep it position as I torqued. My engine purrs again. Thanks for your 2 cents.

And congratulations on finding a cheep fix! Beats pulling of that timing cover! But I'm not sure why you had this problem to begin with ...... made me go check mine?
