prestolite yard pull and ign. ?s

Ok, trying to finish up my 77 cj-7 304 wiring project, used painless, and in the process, have destroyed the prestolite ignition mod. Is there a yard pull for this so that i don't have to spend the 35$ on a new one. I just want to get it running right now and to do the tfi upgrade later. Second question, the tfi upgrade says to pull this and that from misc ford cars, why couldn't i just pull the required out of a late 70's early 80's wagoneer with a 360? thanks.

The Waggy dist. would be fine, provided it's a Motorcraft. The rest of the parts (cap base, cap, rotor, wires, TFI coil, DuraSparkII box and wiring needed to connect it all up) are *ALL* FORD parts and never came on a Waggy. Everything except for the wiring can be bought at the local ChinaZone or AA.

FWIW, throw that prestolite POS in the garbage, or better yet...use it for a core on a remanned Motorcraft....I did (the parts flunkies *never* check anyway).

I've probably got one of those modules laying around. I would convert it to duraspark as previously mentioned.

Re: prestolite yard pull and ign. ?s

I'm not sure if other makes of vehicles used the Prestolite. 76 and 77 Jeeps (CJ and full-size) will have them for sure.

If you need a prestolite ignition module, just PM me your address. I have about three of them laying around from various parts vehicles that I'll never use.

While I understand yoru desire to just put it together, the TFI upgrade is really worth it. I got a good deal on my CJ because the guy thought the motor was dying (w/ Prestolite). He dropped by the other day to chat, and thought I'd put a new rebuild in there (after TFI). It was that much difference.
