Re: Ford Explorer guys are stealing YJ Dana 30\'s.
Well, I got two rigs with the Ford TTB front end. The '95 Fullsize Bronco and my '95 Ranger. The Ranger has pretty well the same front end as an Explorer. However, I don't worry about exploding it much with the 4 cyl! The only problems I ever had with that front end were water related (well, that and idiot owner related!). Ford uses a very short vent hose without a check valve. I got water in it during a water crossing and like an idiot thought that since it was relatively new that no water would have gotten into it! That one cost me about $200. Water will also get into the wheelbearings on it relatively easy. In short, I've been through the front end a couple of times now, and know quite a bit about it! With up to 33's I don't think the YJ D30 would be too weak--especially if not stump-jumping or rock crawling!
