Dana 60\'s 79 cj7

I,ve got a deal pending to buy a complete 1963 f350 4x4 for $500.00. mainley for the 2 dana 60 axles under it... bear in mind my 7 is my daily driver but I do have full tilt fab. ability at my disposal. would it be worth the efort? the 60's are oe 4.88s but I don't know the spline count on the 63 ford danas? maybe use trany, transfer and all out of the f350?anyone know what transfer case it would be? I haven't even seen the truck yet, but I know it moves under its own power! friend of a friend deal ya know...thanks for any constructive input.gas. ps.I do have one of cals. most extreme trails about 6 miles from my house,so the cj does see serious use!!!

I think you wasted your money. In fact give me the guys phone number who is selling you this and I'll give him my peice of mind (and maybe $500).

Sounds like a good deal to me. The only down side I can think of is it'll probly have drum brakes. I'm no axle expert so I don't know if you can swap that or not. But sounds like a good find to me. Anytime I hear the number 60 I smile.

Well I checked it out and; the front pumkin is on the wrong side, and the rear is bent where the tubes enter the housing. But there is always a brite side, I ofered to transport the truck to the local 4x4 wrecking yard in exchange for the working np435 so I can have a spare and he said go for it!
