Add-A-Leaf Kits

I have developed the dreaded drivers sag in the front of my CJ. I want to add a leaf for a temporary solution until I can get a Rubicon lift. Knowing that this is not permanent and very little off-roading will be going on, is there a kit that is better than the others AND should I go ahead and do all four wheels?

Re: Add-A-Leaf Kits

I have aals on my 82 CJ7 w/ a 304 in it. It sits level and i got about 2inches from it. The ride isnt as bad as people say it is (well thats my opinion at least). I am only running 31x10.5's but i could clear 33's without a problem. I would put all 4 in. Just make sure your ubolts have enough threads to bolt down good. I had to buy slightly longer ones. I am also saving for the RE lift but until i get 800.00 i will be running aal's and 31's.

Re: Add-A-Leaf Kits

I don't know about kits, but you might just ask your local spring shop to make you up a set. I had AALs plus 2" of Re-arch and new bushings done for $250. That's all the lift I got on my '74, and I'm running 33x9.50s. However, I do plan on buying a proper lift kit for my '85 CJ7 since I plan to use it for longer road trips.

Re: Add-A-Leaf Kits

Get a longer leaf, the short leaf will ride harsh.
