Re: Electrical mystery...

I once had a cracked fuseholder, so the fuse was held by only one post, not connecting anything. I discovered after poking in the harness for 2 hours.

Re: Electrical mystery...

Well, i should be able to fix it by then. I ve found the position light problem already. The last thing is the gauges lights that are blowing my fuse. I put the block of gauges away and it stll do the same, i keep on looking, if you have any idea.....

Thanx

Re: Electrical mystery...

1. Well, it may or may not be a dead short.
2. The Orange Black wire goes to the illumination bulbs.
3. It get's it's voltage from the 5 amp fuse,
4. Which gets it's voltage from the Pink/Orange Wire
5. The Pink Orange wire's voltage comes from the Panel Lamp Dimmer Switch Assembly.
6. So, if that 5 amp fuse is blowing,
7. The problem is somewhere in the gauges.
8. I'd suspect a pinched wire leading to one of the bulbs.
9. Start physically tracing that orange black wire,
10. Follow it to EACH of the bulbs and sockets.
11. You should find the problem in no time at all.

Re: Electrical mystery...

Grrrr, i found it and i am PISSED!!!!... A couple months ago my friends bought me a real nice CD player (Kenwood PSW 9524) for the Jeep. Since i didn't want to mess with it i had it installed by a pro.
Well, the guy didn't connect it coorectly, it worked with the gauge light fuse off but as soon as i put one in it blows. it seems like the orange/black wire acted like a - with out the fuse and that is where he plugged the radio mass!!!!!...

Well, now it should be fixed soon so, well, as long as the radio didn't burn it is alright....

Thanx for your help
