OBA question

Well my on board air works!!! sort of...

This is my problem/question. Do I have my check valve and relief in the wrong spot? This is my order...

Compressor->check valve-> coalescing filter -> Square-D controller

I have a line that goes from the bottom of the check valve to the Square-D relief. My problem is when the controller kicks off and hits the relief my system looses pressure. I thought this would only release pressure between the check valve and the pump??? Do I have the check valve in the wrong spot??? or would it make a difference???

For now I took the relief line but I wanted to have it there so the compressor could start easier.

Oh ya... its a Sanden compressor.

Re: OBA question

Can you send a digital pic? Your order is right...my relief valve goes from the pressure switch to the one way valve and works just fine.

Re: OBA question

I will post a picture tomorrow to help visualize what I have for a set up.

Re: OBA question

Not saying mine is right, but I am Compressor>Filter>check valve. My check valve had a screw in the side that needed to be tightened. it is like a bleed screw. Also I am loosing air out a couple of connections but nothing that really causes a problem.. I need to use some clamps.

Re: OBA question

I have compressor, filter, check valve also. Maybe your air is bleeding out a leak in the filter set up?

Re: OBA question

Do you have the check valve facing the right way? The symbol like this < o should should point in the direction of the compressor. And I really don't see a need for a pilot operated check in an OBA system anyway, as the compressor will be unloaded between the compressor and the check anyway, that's the purpose of the check valve. I like putting the check after the filter because there is no reason to hold pressurized air in the filter; it can't get filtered any more once it goes past it anyway.
