oil pressure

My oil pressure has run at 40, which is right in the middle of my gauge, for a long time. After tune-up it is now at 60, or 3/4 all the way to the right. Does this matter? Is it good or bad or as long as it stays put is it ok? Everything was done right, have already double checked, and triple checked. Runs tons better just worried about this. Thanks.

Re: oil pressure

Newer oil will have more resistance and higher pressure. Also on that note, a clogged filter will also increase pressure. Somewhere on the internet there is a study about filter make up. I know somebody out there knows the address. The Great Late Smokey Yunick said, "With 10 lbs of pressure for every 1000 rpms is good pressure for any engine." Exmple 1000 rpm should have 10 psi, 3000rpm should have 30psi.
