Re: fuel gauge what ohm rating?

I don't have the specs in front of me, but I've got a gauge tester at work that simulates required resitance from sending units and almost all of the required ohm range specs from the senders, so I'll get back to you tomorrow. Should not be a major dilema to get the right specs!!! gas.

Re: fuel gauge what ohm rating?

better yet I am now thinking of using the stock cj speedo and the fuel gauge in that. is this possible to set up? the autometer gauges are to expensive. Mike

Re: fuel gauge what ohm rating?

Rip out the stock dash and put in a CJ dash. I brazed in all of the nuts and added a couple extra to support the dash better.

Use the CJ wiring on the dash and splice it to the YJ wires. You will come up with a couple extra switches to use for lots of things.

Re: fuel gauge what ohm rating?

actually I am doing a custom dash that will be much nicer.

I have it all planed out minus the fuel gauge cause I cant find the ohm specs for a stock yj sender.

Re: fuel gauge what ohm rating?

1. Empty = 73 ohms
2. Half = 23 ohms
3. Full = 10 ohms

Re: fuel gauge what ohm rating?

The specs I just posted are from the 2003 version of alldata for testing the gauges response. But this is all really irelivent, cause a phone call to summit will get a gauge matched to the o.e. sender! gas.

Re: fuel gauge what ohm rating?

thanks for your time. that is the same thing I found out. that means it is a 0 to 90 ohm gauge the same as gm.

leve those specs are for a cj sender.

the only reason i was confused was this website

http://www.off-road.com/jeep/swb/articles/dash.htm

has the yj specs backwards. I figured this out after i noticed summit had no such gauge.

thanks Mike
