Bad tranny and torque mounts and rusty tub.

Well, there it was, right in front of me.That better
than 45 degree hill that Barfnick made it up in his
'96 XJ.Now I just couldn't let him get away with
that,now could I?So I backs me '72 CJ5 up the
other hill like Barfnick done.Then I gives 'er.Up I
goes an bounce bounce bounce over.Pulles 'er
round and hear "Shut it down!Shut it Down!".
So I do.I'll be danged if I didn't pop rivet and bolt
that rusty old body down onto that frame. But
apparently gravity don't care about hard effort.
As I was jarring around up that hill, the body slid
back on the frame, pulling the grill and thus the
radiator into the fan.Bbrrrt...goes that new
radiator I bought last year.Time for a new one!
But wait! that's not all! That jouncing up the hill
made the wheels catch and break traction quite
a few times.Guess that tranny and torque mount
wasn't doing much good back home in the shed.
The engine torqued over and dented a hole in
the oil filter.Wow!Two avoidable screwups on the
same climb!Luckily it was only 200 yards from the
campsite and I just rolled downhill to my tent.I
don't think it hurt anything,it didn't run that long.
But I see a new body and radiator coming quicker
than I thought.Nuts,JayJay is broke again.But I did
make it up that hill........
Now about the trip we didn't go on the next day.
Everyone was saying nope,we ain't got a winch
now that your Jeep is down. And all you guys were
saying we don't need a winch,you got one.See
what happens?Backup woulda been nice,I'd of
rode with somebody.
