fun trail in texas
I just got back from vacation and thought I'd better see what you guys been talking about. I thought I might let you know that if any of you ever get a chance to visit West Texas, in Big Bend National Park there's a 51 mile trail that runs along the Rio Grande through the park that is lots of fun. It's the Old River Road but there's no evidence of there ever being a road there. It's easy if you have pretty good clearance. No big rocks you can't go around but lots of desert gullies and washes to climb around in. The route provides access to areas, like Mariscal Canyon, that are only accessable by foot, horse or 4X4. If you plan to visit the area, contact Big Bend Park and they will send you a brochure, for a dollar, that describes all the four wheel drive trails in the park. It's a beautiful area but if you visit, please don't mess it up.
