O/TLarge interstate, Stuck car = big problem.

I was traveling home Saturday on Interstate 80 east through Jersey. 4 or 5 lane wide highway... I don't remember...big. Stopped car in center. Speed limit 65mph. Everyone doing 70+mph. I see the car a 1/2mile ahead of me center lane stopped dead with tiny amber lights flashing. I'm fine in the right lane. Not to many cars bringing up the rear. I throw on the hazards and kinda try smoething anything to slow the traffic, but there were only few cars behind me that I barely if did get the attention of to get the highway stopped. It wasn't safe to stop. To many lanes only one Jeep. Well long story short, it looked like "The big one at" Daytona in my rearview. A bunch of traffic appeared then smoke and spins. I was 5-10 seconds away looking back in the mirrors. What the heck could anyone have done besides the driver of that car to get it off the highway right when the car lost power?
I don't know about injuries. I know there were a lot of people on the side of the road kinda grand standing with cell phones on their ears wondering the same thing I am now. Even before I passed there. What a weird scene. I'm counting my blessings that I wasn't there moments later.

1. Good observation.
2. Every time we travel,
3. We're only two, to three, seconds away from injury or death,
4. At the hands of those we don't know...
5. Another reason for capable roll bars, good bumpers and iron rocker protection.
6. They may not always help in an accident,
7. But they usually don't hurt.
8. It's sad to be reminded so often...
9. Keep it safe out there!
