muffler question

OK here goes, Is there only one way for stock mufflers to flow or can you mount them either way and not induce too much backpressure.the muffler has this on it <-AB-> Arrow pointing towards the A side and also one pointing towards the B side.should A side point towards the front? right now B side does but feels/ runs like the motor is being choked out.TIA for any help.

Re: muffler question

1. Mufflers usually flow only one way.
2. A should point to the front.
3. B should point to the back.
