KABAM! Not a good jeep sound.

At least it broke at home. I was trying to yank my old Chevy truck out from behind the house to haul it off to the bone yard. Been there for years and had sunk into the dirt. After about 3 good tugs the front driveshaft broke off at the yoke. Guess I'll fix this one for a spare and give Tom Woods a call next week. Great excuse to upgrade! At least it didn't put the Jeep out of commision. It could have been worse, but there's never a better reason to upgrade than a broken part.

Re: KABAM! Not a good jeep sound.

Yes, I guess it could have been worse. It was my own fault really. I put the winch cable on thinking I might winch it out but of course it just dragged the jeep. I should put the strap on to try yanking it out of the hole instead of leaving the cable on. I have been letting jeepchick drive the CJ since her car is having a tranny problem. She was freaking out when I told her I broke "your" jeep! I told her to take it easy, I pulled the shaft off already and unless she was going to do a little wheeling on the way to work she would be fine.
