Add a Leafs ?s/ Opinions wanted

Did a search before this posta and got no matches. Here's what I want to know. I'm not a real avid offroader and rarely go, but I like the look of a lift on the Jeep, and was interested in getting some add leafs. Now would you reccomend them? mainly for street use? I know the ride will get stiffer, but like I said I like the look of the lift and don't really do very much offroading. So for the price and my situation, etc. would it be an okay deal? Thanks for any help.

Some guys on this board have gone with shackle lifts, but these change the frontend geometry a little. If you go with shackles check on longer shocks. Add a leafs will give you a harsher ride. there's .02 worth.

Re: Add a Leafs ?s/ Opinions wanted

I had my springs Re-arched 2.5" and had a leaf added to each pack. Works good so far and allows me to clear 33x9.50s on my '74. If I had the money, I would have just bought lift springs to begin with, but I was able to do the re-arch and add-a-leafs for a lot less money. The ride is slightly stiffer with stock height tires, but feels about the same when you slap on 33's with the taller, flexier sidewalls. Haven't noticed any real change in flex, but flex isn't as important where I go. Remember, this is my experience with my jeep, and it may not work the same for you. Hope this helps.
