72 CJ5 Engine Mount

Anyone have a 72 CJ5 with the 304 engine? I have no idea what the PO did but the engine is mounted with the short mount on the driver's side and the long mount is on the right side. This places the engine a few inches left of center line and, of course, the rear driveshaft is also left of center. Is this right or should the mounts be reversed?

Re: 72 CJ5 Engine Mount

The mounts on my '74 304 are like you describe. Longer on the right side. shorter on the left. Hope this helps!

Yes that is the correct orientation for the motor mounts, Short one is drivers side, long on passenger side.
All of the `72-`75 V8 models came that way.
