Correct tranny fluid for a 999

Does it make any differance whether you use Mopar ATF "+3" or Dextron III.
Is one any better than the other ?

Re: Correct tranny fluid for a 999

The MoPar ATF+3 is for the late model auto O.D. Transmissions. Dexron 3 is the stuff you need for the 999. I don't know if the ATF+3 will do anything 'bad' to your 999, but it's not worth the chance. Just put in the stuff that belongs in there. Actually, that would be Dexron 2, but that isn't made anymore. The D3 is the replacement for the D2.

Use the newer ATF+4 it is a LIFETIME fluid according to Chrysler. It is a better fluid but I don't know about the lifetime thing. Maybe 50k or 60k though. It's not avalible yet after market yet. You should be able to buy it at a good price if your dealer has it in bulk. Or use the ATF+3.
