The metal line that comes out of the power steering pump tank for the return line is rotted out. Is this peice of line replaceable? Does it come with the rplacement return hose? It doesn't appear to be threaded in like the pressure hose. Thanks
you can make one out of brake line.. if you have a flaring kit.. to flare the end.. for the nut thats on your old line.. then use some p/s hose.. it doesnt have to be high pressure like the feed line..
my bust.. i was thinking gear box... not the tank..
Most are part of the pump tank and not replaceable. What I would do is look at the wrecking yard and find a
pump with a good tank, probably the cheapest route. You may be able to buy them new also, Try NAPA.
What engine is the pump mounted to? I may have a good spare tank.
I have a PS pump from an 88 Grand waggie with an AMC 360. I know that a lot of the AMC parts do interchange with the I6, but I am not suer if the PS pump is the same. If you think the pump will work, and you want it, drom me an Email. [email protected] Shipping shouldn't be too much since I am in VT and you are in Maine. I also have the hydro lines that were attached to it.
Jeep actually used GM power steering pumps. When searching the junk yard, just make sure the pressure line fitting is the same as GM used two different kinds, a flaired end, and a tapered end with an O-ring. I think you need the flaired.
