D30 leak

My Front D 30 is leaking gear lube down onto my lower ball stud. From what I see in the manual there is an inner seal. Is there an outer seal that I am missing ? Anyone ever changed the Inner seals and what is involved beside pulling the axels ? I hope they can be changed without pulling the anything else.

I did do a search but nothing came up.

Re: D30 leak

You also have to pull the carrier assembly from the housing. The seals can be a bit difficult to install, But it
can be done.

Re: D30 leak

There is a hub oil seal on the outside of the axle and an inner axle seal. On mine we pulled the carrier to press the inner seals out tward the tires. But we replaced damn near everything in the axle, I now regret not swaping in a 44.
