Fuel injectors out - best way to clean?

In the process of installing new headers I had to remove the fuel rail and injectors. I noticed they were pretty gunked up. Now that they're out can I clean them with "through the tank additive"? Will soaking them in this stuff do any good since it's not actually running through the system. Can I kill the injectors if I totally submerse them? Anyone have any suggestions on how to best clean?

I don't really know the answers to your questions but I had recalled a thread a while ago about this and after a little bit of scrounging I found it. It may or may not help you but you can read it here. I hope thats at least a start for you.

Thanks for doing the work I should have done myself. I usually do a search but I guess I got excited ;-). I should be able to find the anwer in that thread somewhere.
