RCAA Event at Reno (Moonrocks) Awsome!!!

Just got back a few hours ago from Reno.
The RCAA event was an incredible event, even if the weather on Saturday was a bit brutal.
The big climb of the event was B7. Towards the end of the day on friday, only John Bundrant in the Nelson/Nelson built rig was able to make the climb without the winch.
On Saturday Mitch Gutherie successfully climbed the nearly vertical 20' wall late in the competition, with his Jason Paulley built (Bent Twisted) rig and then was followed a few rigs later, by Johnny G (Guilliam).
The 30 points that saved by not going to the winch, was the points difference in a very tough competition, that put them all in the top positions.
Johnny G : 1st Place
John Bundrant : 2nd Place
Mitch Gutherie : 3rd Place
Tracy Jordan : 4th Place
Mike Shaffer : 5th Place

Fridays weather was awsome.
Saturday weather started windy, got windier, then turned into a dust storm, then poured rain on us durring the awards ceremony,...still it was a great event.
The turnout was somewhat limited by the fact that it was tough driving conditions comming over the Sierras on Hwy 80 from the Sacramento area , and the SF Bay area. It was still a pretty good turn out.

Sorry no pics.

Re: RCAA Event at Reno (Moonrocks) Awsome!!!

No I didnt enter, but my Rig could have been made ready (it just needs a few small items to pass tech).
I cant make all of the RCAA events, I didnt want to kick down the RCAA membership fees and the event fees, just to run one event. None of my sponsors wanted to pony up the cash, so I figured I would just keep the rig healthy. My next event is a CalROCS event in Fernly NV. on May 3rd and 4th.

I lived there for 6 months a few years ago. It's a nice small town.
