msd install

I just compleated installing my new msd ignition with the mag pickup, it works great. I set it up so that I could use my stock ignition as a backup and it is now unpluged. My tach stoped working and in the install manual I see they recomend a tach adaptor, now I need to know what wire feeds the tach and if I need the adaptor?

Re: msd install

Didn`t you get instructions with your box? If you can give all the particulars of your installation I can
probably help. I have an MSD book that shows all the common skematics.

Re: msd install

I did get all the instructions, but no where does it say which wire from the tach ties into the unit and all of chiltons wire diagrams leave out the tach hook up.

Re: msd install

Exactly which box did you install? If It`s a 6 series box there should be a recessed spade terminal on the
box to attach your tach wire.

Re: msd install

I had to use the adapter on mine. Attached is a pic with a label where the adapter plugs in.

Re: msd install

Hey One, isn't this green wire the one that went to one side of the coil? The other side on mine is a red to the ignition, I think.
