what year waggy for dana 44\'s in a cj5??

Hey guys...ok you've all kinda scared me away from going w/ my amc 20 and dana 30 w/ lockers. So... now i am looking at trading a local jeep shope my widetracks for a set of dana 44's off of a wagoneer. I know you guys have done these swaps, so if you could give me a little info on what year to look for and also any other pointers about this.. thanks a lot guys, i could use the info rather quickly b/c i'm going down there in the morning. Fullsize sounds like the best way to go if i'm going to fork out over 1200 dollars for my axles anyways. thanks

Luke

74-79 waggy front. 74-77 have flat tops. Most of these waggys have offset rears. Get a rear AMC20 HD out of a 80+ waggy, or a rear out of a 86+ toy. Most toys have a 8" ring gear but the newer v6 tacomas have 8.4" ring gears. They all have 1.3" shafts. I'd say the toy axle is stronger than a AMC20 HD or dana 44. Plus they have more ground clearance.

Why not a set of rear 44's off a CJ5?

No front 44 to match.
