Rubicon Express or Skyjacker???????

I've heard some much about both of these lifts. Which lift do you guys prefer for a 4.0 tj manual and why? I am look at the rockready or the extreme duty. I'm debating between the 4.5/5.5 or 4/6 with either 33's or 35's. I want a kit that will have a nice ride for everyday driving and a kit that will work off road as well. How much will the ride change with the larger kit and the 35's or would the smaller with the 33's be better. Sorry for all the newbie questions.

this has been beat tp death..
my opinion.. get the RE extreme kit..better then stock ride. get the 35" tires..they are fine for the street with 4.56 gears.

Re: Rubicon Express or Skyjacker???????

I've done a ton of searches on this and I didn't see anything talking about how the kits were for daily driving or how 33's or 35's would be different for daily driving woth theses kits. Thanks for the help though.

Re: Rubicon Express or Skyjacker???????

my wife has a RE 4.5" kit on her jeep and it has been there since the jeep had 6000 miles....she turned 37000 (miles not age) last week and we have never had to do anything other than grease the zerks. it rides better than when it was new (even with 35" tires) and I installed the kit myself in a weekend (with a lift and air tools).
I have a 6" RE long arm kit on my tj. It drives even better than hers does and it is very very very flexy off road. I drive it eerywhere I go and it has 37" tires.
either way you'll have to chose good gears for what your are doing.. personally I think the 5 speed/ 4.56 combo is perfect for 35's. very slightly lower than stock.
I have 5.38 gears and 37's and I turn about 2350 rpm @ 60 mph in 5th.

Re: Rubicon Express or Skyjacker???????

the rubicon express TJ kits are hard to beat for ride quality. 35s will make a gear swap necessary (at least 4.56) with 33s you can get by with 4.10, or forget 5th gear

The Rubicon Express will give you a much better ride and is alot easier to install than the skyjacker. Check this out www.ollllo.com

Re: Rubicon Express or Skyjacker???????

The 4.5 RE Extreme Duty on my jeep rides better than the stock suspension, imo. After straightening out some minor handling woes, i like it. If I could do it again, I may do a SOA, but regardless, it works well so far.

Re: Rubicon Express or Skyjacker???????

Check my reply to the 4, 6, 8" post regarding sky craper lifts, the re lifts ride better and are much better built, and hard to beat for the value.

Re: Rubicon Express or Skyjacker???????

Great those were exactly the answers I was looking for. Well, elusive, you settled it, if the 5.5RE rides better then the 4.5 and better then stock, all I can say is WOW and I'm going for the 5.5 with 35's!!! Thanks everyone for all the newbie help.
