I need an Edelbrock 1406 on 360 refresher course

So, I decided to rip out the CJ TBI and go back to a good old fashion carb. I picked up another Edelbrock 1406 and am having problems with starting so I have a couple questions for you AMC V8 gurus.

1)Which vaccuum port I should use on an '85. Full or timed? I am using full but I thought I'd double check.

2)Can some one paint a picture for me on how the stock fuel lines are routed? It's been too long and I dont have any good photos. Should it be fuel pump to fuel filter (side w/ single inlet or "IN" text), then center outlet goes to carb and offset outlet goes back to fuel tank?

It's turning over but no gas is pumping. It's a brand new pump, filter, carb, etc. I thought maybe I had the filter hooked up wrong.

Any tips for a rusty fanatic would be great.

I can't tell you about fuel lines but, The Edelbock 1406 is what I'm using. Do you plan on hooking up the emission hoses? I only have 2 lines, 1)pcv and 2) vac advance.


I use the vacuum port on the driver's side I do believe it is full vacuum. That's my 2 cents. L8r,

I guess I was mostly interested in the fuel line routing. I had them routed a little differently for my EFI and now I'm going back to stock. No emission hoses. Just PCV and vaccuum advance. You're right, the drivers side port is full vaccuum. Thanks for your help. [img]images/graemlins/40BEER.gif[/img]
