np205.vs dana 300

i was wondering about the overall length of an SM465 tranny NP205 t case compared to a SM465 dana300 combo??

I am not sure about the length of the 465/205 combo. But I can help you with the 465/300 set up.
The length from the input shaft on the trans to the end of the D300 is 33.1 inches. The break down is like this
SM465 input shaft 6.5 in
SM465 length 12 inches
SM465 to D300 adaptor 3.1 inchs
D 300 length 11.5 inches

A nice thing about this set up is that a stock AX-5 NP 231 has a total length of 33.8 Inches. That is less than one inch of difference.

I was just looking at some info and found that a NP 205 is 13 inches long.
So the total length of that set up would be 31.5 (because you do not need an adaptor. (unless there is a factory adaptor.. I am not sure about that.
On a kind of side note. The D 300 is a lot easier to fit under a Jeep. The NP 205 is HUGE.

thank you soo much i wanted to know because i have a friend that has a SM465 ans a NP205 just liying around and he going to give them to me [img]images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]im sooo happy right now
