Re: AMC 20 LOCKER???

If you are not regearing, the lockright is the best option. It installs into the existing carrier and doesn't require resetting the gear shims. It's strong and reliable, but not indestructable. And it is a true locker. Detroits E-Z locker near identical, but opinions vary as to whether it is of equal strength to the lockright.

If you want more strength in a locker, the detroit softlocker is the ticket. A bit more money, but it replaces the whole carrier for more strength. It is also quieter and smoother than a lockright.

I had the lockright in my amc 20, then used a detroit after regearing a dana 44. Both are excellant off road, but require some added caution on winter roads.

Lock-right in mine too. and yes it is easy to get sideways on wintery roads... but drive like you got some sence and it's no big deal.
