knocking noise from 95 rio grande I4

Well I have posted before about a knocking noise from I 95 wrangler I4. It woud do it when cold really loud and would go away when warmed up. I had a shop take a look at it since I have an extended warranty and it turned out to be 2 bad lifers. I had posted about the jeep dealer that I had first took it to and they said it needed a complete lower end rebuild because my wrist pins, con rod bearings and main bearings were all bad. I will never take it to a dealer again. Well it ended up costing me my 100.00 deductable and they ended up paying 250.00. So now maybe I can finally enjoy my jeep.

Lifters usually won't give you a knock but more of a ticking noise. It's usually when they are not pumped up with oil. A knock is usually from the bottom end. In any case, replacing a few lifters sure beats a bottom end rebuild.
