Kinda O/T Can U Tell thread size by headbolt size?

Just a quick question. Is there any way to tell thread size by the size of the bolt's head? for instance, I have a bolt that takes a 5/8 wrench on the head, what size would the threads be? thanks, Ben

Wrench size doesn`t "always", Equate to a thread size. But, Its most likely you have a 7/16 thread size.

Yep, head size is usually determined by bolt size and is the same no mater what the grade. There are oversized heads though.

Funny you should bring up the 5/8 head size which usually means 7/16 bolt. The nut size for that is often 11/16 wrench size. Usually, the nut and head size are the same until you got past 1/2" bolt size.
