91 YJ Fuel in exhaust, help!!- Long
I have a 91 YJ and yesterday the check engine light came on. The engine started to have a rough idle and when I got home I checked the error code with the ignition/ key (on, off, on) It said I had a bad O2 sensor. No big deal, went done to the store and bought a new one and installed it. No change, the Jeep sounds like a boat at idle. While I was replacing the O2 sensor I noticed fuel leaking from the manifold/ front pipe joint of the exhaust and there was still large white clouds of gas/ exhaust coming from the tailpipe. So at this point I took out the Hayes book and guessed it might be the Fuel pressure regulator. Another trip to the store and the fuel pressure reglator was changed out. Still the jeep is idling rough and the fuel/ exhaust is still there along with the before mentioned leak of raw fuel. I also changed the fuel filter with no luck in fixing this problem. Anybody have this problem before? Any suggestions? PLease help this is my daily driver and I have to go back to work on Tues. Thanks.
