Locking hubs on a TJ

2 questions....

1)are TJ locking hub conversions strong at all? or are they a waste of money

2)if i get a dif front axle, like d44 with locking hubs.....in bad weather can i leave the hubs locked so i can use my shift on the fly w/o getting out of my jeep, or will this kill em in the long run. I used to run with my fronts locked up in my CJ so i didnt have to get out of my jeep...but i dont know if this was bad for em.

thanks!

Re: Locking hubs on a TJ

Regarding #1 - I don't know. Never used the kit and don't know anyone who has. Sorry.

Regarding #2 - If you have an open front differential it is fine to leave the hubs locked and shift t/c as needed. Leaving hubs locked will only decrease fuel economy and increase wear on parts that will now be moving.
