SOA with YJ spring Q / drive shaft length

Im putting in a 44 SOA in my 84 CJ frame, and I have heard that you need to move the front shackle hanger forward one bolt hole (grind rivot and punch, move forward a the bolt hole and shim the steering box brace plate). My question is that I did measure the two length springs (factory CJ and the YJ springs), the YJ springs are .75" longer. Do I really have to move the hanger? Or can I get away w/o doing that.

Amother is, from a D30 to a scout 44, what will my driveshaft do. Shorten or get longer. I have the Woods long travel and am trying to get an idea what I will have to do with it.

Thanks again guys
