I had a 79 cj5 with a factory t-18 for a little while. This guy that has messed with a lot more jeeps than I have(old bastard } said that jeeps never had that factory combo. Can yall help me prove him wrong?

I've got a '77 CJ-5 with the T-18 wide ratio tranny that came that way from the factory. '77 technical service manual says it was an option on 5s, 7s, Cherokees, J-10, and J-20 trucks. I'm under the impression that '77-'79 model year CJs were pretty much the same. The Jeep Owners Bible written by Moses Ludel says that the T-18 was available in '72-'79 CJs. I think your friend the "old bastid" is going to eat crow on this one.

I looked at a parts jeep a while back, 79 CJ-5 258/T18. So yes, your pal is chock full o'sheet.
