Re: cheapest LS for TJ Dana 30
the problem is that they never put limited slip devices into a dana 30... the detroit truetrac is there, but its tooooo expencive and im not very impressed with them on the trail..I hve seen people run lockrights in the front of tj's with good results.. you can certianly tell they are there though...
really a limited slip isnt a viable option in the front of a tj/yj..
therefore you have a few choices
1. build yourself a dana 44.. this is very $$ but its also the BEST route
2. live with either a lockright or a detroit..if you dont wheel much, this isnt such a good idea either
3. get a selectable locker. the ARB, new detroit electric locker, and the OX are all selectable lockers. they all run about 6-700 though
4. put the warn hub conversion on with a lockright or detroit.. this way you can unlock the hubs and be streetable abain.. i have seen several of the small hubs blow apart and get repaired under warranty though..
I have an ARB in the front of the wifes tj, she really likes it... I am also currently building a d-44 for the front of her jeep since it has 35" tires..the d-44 is a lot of work...but in the end it will have locking hubs and an ARB..
