Rear U-Joint gone again? Something wrong.

I was checking out my rear driveshaft today because i've been noticing vibrations in it again, and my rear u joint is bad. This is the second time I've had to replace it, the last time was only 2 months ago. Am I just driving this thing too hard? I haven't greased it in a month, but I didn't think that would be a huge problem either. What else might cause this? It's only the caps that are strapped onto the yolk that go bad.

Thanks in advance,
Jay

Did you grease it good after installing and make sure grease came out of all 4 caps? (using good quality grease the grease they come with is sometimes just a cheap assemblly grease kind of like vasoline)

Have you gone through any water in that month?

Are you stock or lifted? What are your angles like?

Can you post a pic of the cross and the caps? It would help to tell by seeing whats worn or damaged

Also is it the one at the transfer or the rearend?

I'm running a stock suspension right now, so I've got stock angles on it. I have run through mud and water offroading, didn't think much of it though. It's a little dark out but I'll try to get a pic of the joint posted tomorrow.

We had the same problem. After 3 new u joints the rear end locked up. Broke 3 teeth on the ring and on the pinion. I am not saying that will happen to you, but something to consider. I dont know if taking a look at the diff. would tell you anything or not, but if you havent changed the lube lately it might not hurt to take a look in there. About a year after a new ring and pinion the pinion shaft broke so we ended up putting another axle in. Hope you have better luck that that.
